The first drupa in 8 years has been a success for AkeBoose
The first drupa in which AkeBoose participated as part of the Agergaard Group is behind us. In the years since the last drupa in 2016, we have continuously advanced our product development and optimization and were thus able to show visitors chamber doctor blade systems, ink supply systems and printing units that are characterized by easy handling, reliable function and low operating costs.
How did we experience the show?
Let the pictures speak for themselves - here is our drupa 2024 experience in a short video:
The world as our guest
The final show report of Messe Düsseldorf shows a large internationality of this year's 170,000 trade visitors at drupa, which we also noticed at our stand: Talking to visitors from no less than 100 countries around the world, our team mobilized all their language skills (that's 12 different languages in total;-)). If necessary, we also used our hands and feet and translation apps on our cell phones to communicate.
It was a pleasure to speak to people in person at the stand who we may have only known via email or video/audio communication. It was great how many good contacts we also made or deepened, which may lead to future cooperation.
Practical product experiences
Our hands-on mentality in the design of our exhibits has proven its worth. Depending on the area of use or printing application, such as flexible packaging, corrugated cardboard or inline coating in offset printing, we created different setups so that visitors could familiarize themselves with our products in a practical way.
We were able to demonstrate countless times the advantages of tool-free doctor blade and end seal changes on the AkeBoose chamber doctor blade systems, which can even be carried out directly at the printing press in many applications thanks to the integrated service position. The ultimate advantage: time savings when setting up the printing deck.
Chamber doctor blade systems
Chamber systems for flexible packaging printing
NOVA TK with tool-free doctor blade and seal change with minimal cleaning and maintenance effort, allowing easy access to the printing unit.
Corrosion-resistant NOVA XLS, which, in combination with our ESS sealing system, ensures clean printing of water-based inks on film.
Chamber systems for corrugated board printing:
Both the NOVA TK and the NOVA XLS series were on show at a standard printing width of 2.5 m, in a version with a support beam that ensures the chamber is evenly positioned against the anilox roller and prevents bouncing thanks to a suspension system with mechanical locking.
Pump systems for flexographic printing
On the one hand, there was our EPQ diaphragm pump series to discover, which is characterized by intuitive operation and compact design and, thanks to the pulse damper, promotes a uniform ink flow of water-based and solvent-based inks.
In times of high energy costs, our new EPP product range, electrically operated peristaltic pumps for ink and coating supply, has met with great interest as an alternative to the widely used pneumatically operated diaphragm pumps in order to optimize operating costs. Different levels of automation can be implemented so that they can be integrated as easily as possible into the printing press and its control system.
It's all in the spirit
Our team was enthusiastic and gave their all over 11 days to discuss possible improvements and solutions with our visitors and to show how our products and services can help to make the flexographic printing process efficient and resistant to faults. It's simply great fun when we see eyes light up in conversation when we can help solve a problem, making everyday work easier. For example, we were able to give a flexographic printer who was having severe problems with ghosting a small "hack" to modify his chamber doctor blade, which he was able to implement straight away in his business, significantly improving his printing results, as he informed us today by email.
Thanks to everyone involved for making this year's drupa a success!
